This is a great op-Ed article. Heartfelt. Honest. I appreciate your insight and expertise on the fragility of war and especially in speaking up for innocent children who “have nothing to do with this (or any other) war.” Thank you, Hollie.

If we care about the Iranian people then we shouldn’t be dropping bombs on them. We should only ever fight a war wherein we are willing for the cost of winning that war to be the death of every man, woman, and child on the other “side”. Our problem is in pretending that there is a minimal casualty or moral way to wage war. No war has ever been won that way, no war will ever be won that way. If we aren’t willing to kill school children to win the war, then it’s not a war worth fighting. Which for the record as far as I’m concerned makes this a war not worth fighting.

Also lets be real, if Tehran has the ability and gets the chance to launch missiles or drop bombs on the mainland U.S. they aren’t going to be worried about the Geneva Convention.
