Dear Hollie, thank you for this touching, honest statement of frustration with the world. Your words are appreciated, and very much needed. So many of us feel the same way. My answer -- for myself -- is hard to explain, but it is maybe best stated as just trying to "be love," with humility and courage. To just express it in all I do. As you say, we all do our small part, but each one is important and ripples out. We cannot give in to the mindlessness of so much that is just wrong these days. We can't give so much of our mental real estate. We have a moral compass and so does most of the people in this world. I once saw graffiti that said, "Are you angry, or are you just boring?" This is how I feel about those who cannot articulate an intelligent, reasoned thought, and make themselves safely unapproachable by being angry. They are boring. They are on the edge of being irrelevant. I like that the Buddhists describe 3 things that are poison to people -- anger, greed and deception. So, as we used to say in the 70s, "don't let the turkeys get you down." Good is still powerful! With love, Bonnie
