If human trafficking is so rampant in the United States, why does it never seem to end up in court?

We often hear about how widespread this horrible crime is, but we rarely hear about individuals prosecuted and convicted

There are 27.6 million modern-day slavery victims in the world right now, and governments are only able to identify 115,324 – less than half a percent – thus, it’s clear that we have a real problem on our hands globally and here at home. That means 99.6 percent of victims remain trapped in unfathomable conditions with no control over their bodies, and a reminder that 28.6 percent of these victims are just children.

The suffering of child trafficking victims is protracted, and these traffickers continue to rent out minors and operate with impunity as a result of multiple failures by various branches of the U.S. government. This is what is going wrong.
