Beyond the Headaches: What really happened with 'Havana Syndrome'?
Marc Polymeropoulos remembers the moment his life changed in vivid detail. It was 2017 in Moscow, and the former senior CIA officer was suddenly overcome by debilitating symptoms; piercing headaches, dizziness, and a pressure sensation that left him stumbling and unable to think clearly.
What he couldn’t have known then was that he was among hundreds of United States government personnel who would report similar mysterious health incidents across dozens of countries, in what has become known as Havana Syndrome.
Nearly a decade later, Mr. Polymeropoulos tells me he’s “feeling much, much better,” although deeply concerned over what transpired and the lack of answers and accountability.
